DAILY CREATE #tdc3419
For this Daily Create, it was all about digital loss. The question asked us to reflect on a digital loss that felt just as painful as losing something in real life. With the recent reflection I’ve done while creating my ePortfolio, I have thought about this Doctor Who fan website that I made back in April of 2014.
It took me a very long time to create a website to my liking, but I quickly attracted new members who participated in my site. I thoroughly enjoyed creating different categories and ways for my members to interact with each other, but I slowly grew out of the Doctor Who fanbase. Netflix took off Doctor Who from their streaming service a few years ago, and I have not had a chance to watch it since then. Since Netflix removed Doctor Who, I’ve forgotten about this website that I’d created.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t just the website that I’d left behind. I still have had active members in these past years, some of which who continued to reach out to me. It wasn’t until I had rechecked the site that I realized how long it had been since I’d been on it. My most active member believed that something bad had happened to me- simply due to the time that I had been off the site. Now that this class has gotten me back in a creative mood, I’ve reconnected with my site and the few members that I still have left. Hopefully, I will be able to reignite my website and enjoy time with my friends once more.
Who said that childhood interests needed to stay in childhood? Doctor Who is timeless.
